PDFlib Lite 7.0.3

The colour wheel PDF is generated by a PHP script using PDFlib Lite 7.0.3 from PDFlib GmbH. PDFlib Lite is not open source software. Its licence agreement (created 8 February 2008) says:

• Running it needs a commercial licence (section 2), unless one of these exemptions applies:
  • 2.1 Open source developer: the program is used as part of an integrated product that is available under an OSI-approved licence, whose complete source code is available to anyone free of charge, and whose availability is announced on a publicly accessible web site.
  • 2.2 Private non-profit user: non-profit use by a private individual. For-profit use by individuals, and non-profit use by organisations, are not covered.
  • 2.3 Educational and research: use by educational institutions and individuals for educational and research purposes. Other uses, such as administrative, are not covered.
• Redistribution (section 3) is permitted for a commercial organisation, on conditions: include all files of the original distribution unmodified (source) or the licence, documentation and samples (binary); prominently note any modifications; and keep the PDF Producer entry of generated files the same as the unmodified program produces. Redistribution does not give the recipient the right to use the program.
• All other rights are reserved (section 4). Redistribution by an individual is therefore not expressly granted, and this site does not redistribute PDFlib Lite.
• Each user needs their own exemption or commercial licence. An exemption that applies to someone else does not carry over to you.

If you want to run the generator yourself, check that you qualify under one of the exemptions above, or buy a licence from PDFlib GmbH. Do not alter the Producer field of the generated PDFs.

The full licence agreement is PDFlib-Lite-license.pdf, in doc/pdflib/ inside the PDFlib Lite 7.0.3 source package. It is not hosted here because redistribution by an individual is not clearly permitted; get it from pdflib.com or from the package you obtained PDFlib Lite from.

Colour names data

The colour names and values come from a CSV released by Dolores Labs. The licence of that data is unknown. It is not included on this site.
